About The Position

TOP Land Development/Engineering Firm is hiring multiple 3+ year Geotechnical Engineers for their NYC Office! This opportunity offers strong growth potential, the chance to work on both public & private projects, as well as 40+ office locations across the nation. The Geotechnical Engineer will be in the field at least 70%-80% of the time, performing geotechnical support and inspections to commercial and residential projects throughout NYC. Responsibilities include field work such as soil sampling, coring, and soil boring, as well as familiarity with AutoCAD to design earth structures, deep foundations, support of excavation, and underpinning systems. The role also involves geotechnical report writing including SOE, retaining walls, load test details, field forms/standard logs, soil/rock classifications, drilling logs, and calculations.

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in geotechnical engineering
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Geology
• Experience performing field work including soil sampling, coring, and soil boring
• Familiarity with AutoCAD for designing earth structures and deep foundations
• Ability to write geotechnical reports and prepare standard logs and field forms

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical support and inspections to commercial and residential projects throughout NYC
• Conduct field work including soil sampling, coring, and soil boring
• Design earth structures, deep foundations, support of excavation, and underpinning systems
• Write geotechnical reports including SOE, retaining walls, load test details, and field forms/standard logs
• Classify soil/rock, prepare drilling logs, and perform calculations
• Oversee geotechnical investigations and construction projects, and perform inspections of geotechnical construction where needed
