About The Position

Woolpert is hiring a Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic Infrastructure Team at our King of Prussia office. This position reports to the Geotechnical Team Lead and is responsible for providing technical leadership and engineering support for geotechnical investigations and design. This role involves planning and executing field programs, analyzing subsurface data, and delivering foundation recommendations for infrastructure and site development projects. The Geotechnical Engineer coordinates with multidisciplinary teams and ensures project deliverables meet quality and safety standards. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 2–5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, LPILE, SLIDE2).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and perform fieldwork.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • Experience with DOT or municipal infrastructure projects preferred.
  • PennDOT Drilling Inspector Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee geotechnical field investigations, including soil sampling and test borings.
  • Collect, organize, and review soil test results provided by licensed geologists.
  • Package and report on geotechnical data, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with project requirements.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports summarizing soil test results, site conditions, and relevant findings for use by project teams and clients.
  • Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental teams to ensure geotechnical data is integrated into project deliverables.
  • Maintain strict safety protocols and procedures during fieldwork and reporting.
  • Travel to project sites as needed and work outdoors in varying conditions.
