About The Position

Geometrics Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Civil and Aviation Practice in Pacific Northwest. This position is based in our Seattle, WA office and follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of working in-office a minimum of three (3) days per week to support team collaboration and project delivery. This position will augment Geometrics’ team of Geotechnical Engineers, Project Managers, and Construction Managers and other staff, from offices in Redmond, WA, and Texas offices in Dallas, Houston and Austin. This role is ideal for a self-driven professional who can seamlessly integrate into existing project teams and contribute immediately to ongoing Delivery Orders across multiple airport, infrastructure and private programs. The position requires an individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, supporting both design and construction-related efforts while coordinating closely with project managers, clients, and multidisciplinary teams

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering, MS preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred, or the ability to obtain the license within six months of joining Geometrics
  • Minimum 4 years of industry experience in Geotechnical Engineering
  • Willingness to travel for geotechnical fieldwork (short durations)
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment based out of the Seattle office, with a minimum of three (3) days per week in-office
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to integrate into existing teams and lead effectively
  • Professional, respectful, and able to work productively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Proficient with MS Office®
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist to deliver Geotechnical projects from proposals, through designs, to final reports.
  • Coordinate with project managers, construction managers, and program controls teams to align design with schedule and budget.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing design drawings, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates for a variety of airport, municipal, and private projects with complex soil, pavement, drainage, and structural components.
  • Perform analysis and design for: slope stability, retaining walls, shoring, and deep foundations.
  • Plan and perform surface and subsurface investigations, including coordination with multiple subcontractors, clients, permits, and phases.
  • Assign, review, and incorporate laboratory tests.
  • Assist in preparing Geotechnical reports, boring logs, plans, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, design memoranda, and construction documents.
  • Manage SOW, budget, and schedule for assigned contracts.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and provide input during construction phases.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA, local agency, and client-specific standards.
  • Represent the company in industry conferences, workshops, out-reach events, pre-proposal conferences, etc., as needed.
