About The Position

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated geotechnical engineer to support mine tailings, geotechnical, and heavy civil infrastructure projects as part of the Mining group. Job Summary/ Responsibilities: Performs specific portions of broader projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Planning, implementing, and overseeing geotechnical exploration programs (30% travel/field time) Developing geotechnical laboratory testing assignments Performing geotechnical evaluations including material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analyses Preparing calculation packages Assisting with the development of geotechnical reports, drawings and specifications Preparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal team Review of geotechnical instrumentation and preparation of instrumentation monitoring reports

Requirements

  • BA/BS + 2 yrs of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • MA/MS Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Emphasis
  • EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Basic Knowledge of industry software such as GeoStudio, Utexas, Grapher and AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Field/Construction experience; tailings or dams experience a plus
  • Familiarity with design reports, drawings and specifications
  • Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility
  • Resourceful, highly organized, and detail oriented

Responsibilities
