About The Position
Seeking a college graduate seeking internship. The Geotechnical Engineer Intern will provide support to the Geotechnical departments/team.
Requirements
- Student currently pursuing Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external partners including clients, sub consultants, and utility companies
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
- Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- Ability to carry required instruments and equipment
- The worker is subject to variable climate and environmental conditions including but not limited to extreme cold and heat.
Responsibilities
- Contact utility locating services to ensure project sites are safely marked before work begins
- Perform boring layout for utility clearance, supervising drill rigs, classifying soils, logging borings
- Perform and supervise field exploration, including SPT sampling, rock coring, pile testing
- Assist in developing a variety of layouts, drawings and designs
- Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
