As a Geotechnical Engineer I, in our Wilmington, DE office, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering by contributing to the design and investigations of foundations, roadways, and earthen structures. Alongside our experienced engineering team, you will collect and interpret field data, perform lab tests, assist in technical documentation, and support project planning and cost estimation. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution, with a preference for a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, particularly with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong calculation skills
  • The ability to interpret work plans
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen post offer

Nice To Haves

  • CAD experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the investigation and design of building foundations, earthen structures, and roadways
  • Collect and help interpret data through research, file reviews, field observations and measurements, field testing, and other methods
  • Assist in preparing detailed plans, technical specifications, and reports
  • Perform computations and process data using computer software or other established methods
  • Perform geotechnical laboratory analysis at our on-campus laboratory
  • Observe and document field activities and prepare construction documentation reports
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates for design implementation
  • Perform site inspections under the supervision of senior engineers
  • Demonstrate strong technical writing and communication skills
