About The Position

This role is for a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer / Certified Project Manager to join the Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) team, part of the greater Exelon account. The position involves planning and managing geotechnical investigations, performing desktop analysis of soil and rock properties, and preparing detailed geotechnical investigation reports with recommendations for electrical infrastructure construction within ComEd territory (northern IL). As part of the Resilience Environment team, the role aims to improve quality of life and requires strong written and oral communication skills due to interaction with national and global technical project teams. The candidate must possess multi-tasking abilities to manage several projects simultaneously and meet demanding schedule expectations. Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field
  • Current Illinois P.E. license or ability to obtain Illinois P.E. license
  • Current Arcadis CPM designation
  • 7+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Proficiency with technical report writing
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with client and Arcadis internal client support team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

  • Planning and managing geotechnical investigations
  • Performing desktop analysis of soil and rock properties
  • Preparation of detailed geotechnical investigation reports including recommendations in support of electrical infrastructure construction at Sites within ComEd territory (generally northern IL)
  • Interaction with national and global technical project teams
  • Multi-tasking to work on several projects at once
  • Meeting schedule expectations
