Geotechnical Driller Helper - Delmar (Salisbury), MD

About the position

Hillis-Carnes Engineering is actively seeking a Geotechnical Driller Helper for our Delmar (Salisbury), MD office. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth understanding of the geotechnical drill rig operations and drilling techniques, but willing to train a good candidate. Candidate needs be reliable, motivated, possess a positive attitude, and have a good work ethic. Experience with Hollow Stem Auger and Casing Advance Drilling, Mud Rotary Drilling, Split Spoon and Shelby Tube Sampling, and Rock Coring. Projects will be primarily located in MD and DE with the possibility of work in other states.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with site leadership to ensure that scope of work is being met within a timely schedule and in accordance with the safety standards.
• Produce daily reports and boring logs.
• Clean and maintain company vehicle, drill rig, and equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to meet additional pre-employment requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic, team player attitude, responsible, and reliable.
• Must be able to work out of town when needed.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
• CDL class A is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Hollow Stem Auger and Casing Advance Drilling.
• Experience with Mud Rotary Drilling.
• Experience with Split Spoon and Shelby Tube Sampling.
• Experience with Rock Coring.
