About The Position

Whitestone Associates, Inc., a 100% employee-owned company and a leading provider of environmental and geotechnical engineering and consulting services across the eastern U.S., is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage geotechnical projects while contributing to the success of a dynamic, employee-owned engineering firm. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Geotechnical Assistant Project Manager with 4-8 years of experience to join our team. This position involves aspects of project management, staff management/development, client relationship management, and technical leadership. The ideal candidate has a strong background in geotechnical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead teams in the field and office. Location: Allentown, PA

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer and/or on track to obtain P.E. license once experience requirements are fulfilled (EIT Required)
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, including field investigations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical analyses
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze geotechnical data
  • Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to clients and project teams
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage geotechnical project tasks, balancing fieldwork, office analysis, and reporting to meet project goals and budgets
  • Coordinate and perform field investigations, including soil borings, test pits, and in-situ testing, with limited supervision
  • Review and interpret field and laboratory test data, conducting geotechnical analyses to support design and construction recommendations
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, proposals, cost estimates, and construction specifications for client and internal review
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and contractors, providing technical guidance and addressing routine project questions
  • Mentor junior engineers and field staff, reviewing their work for accuracy and providing guidance to support development
  • Collaborate with senior staff on project planning, scope development, and resource allocation while maintaining familiarity with evolving industry standards
