Rotary and Mission Systems' Training, Logistics and Simulation (TLS) business is Lockheed Martin’s center of excellence for training and logistics products and services, serving the U.S. military and more than 65 international customers around the world. Based in Orlando, TLS develops programs that teach service men and women skills to accomplish their most challenging missions — flying the world’s most advanced fighter aircraft, navigating ships and driving armored vehicles. TLS is the corporation’s hub for simulation, X reality, live-virtual-constructive capabilities, advanced training devices and full-service training programs. TLS also provides sustainment services such as supply chain and logistics IT solutions, spares and repairs, as well as automated test and support equipment. The Work As a key member of our Engineering team, you will: Capture and document geospatial requirements from stakeholders. Design the database, spatial indexes, and integration Develop and automate data loading, transformation, and testing scripts. Diagnose, resolve, and document defects throughout the development cycle. Optimize performance, manage releases, and maintain clear technical documentation. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college
  • Sub-system visual database experience
  • Experience in geospatial and/or modeling development activities
  • ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
  • US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in one or more of the following areas: - Image Generation system, hardware or software simulation design; visual/multispectral/terrain database design and/or generation, or simulator display design.
  • Experience with commercially available database and other production toolsets is desired such ESRI ArcGIS, ESRI CityEngine, Presagis Creator, Blue Marble Global Mapper, TerraSim, TerraTools, Terra Vista, Unreal, Adobe Photoshop, XML editors.
  • Experience with GIS, GEOINT, geography, cartography, photogrammetry, geospatial and 3D database concepts, elevation data, imagery is desired. Experience in terrain modeling for thermal and/or radar sensors would be a plus.
  • Experience with designing, developing, and following workflows to generate multispectral terrain database work products leveraging COTS products and industry standard data formats.
  • Experience with languages such as Python and Unix scripting (bash/shell) is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with Agile scrum methodology, JIRA and Confluence.
