Wiser Imagery Services is seeking a Geospatial Apprentice to join our team in a remote capacity. This entry-level position is designed for individuals with a basic understanding of geographic information systems (GIS). As a Geospatial Apprentice, you will receive comprehensive training on the necessary software, GIS principles, and source materials essential for your role. The primary focus of this position is to work collaboratively with a team to collect, maintain, analyze, and interpret geographic information tailored to our clients' needs. In this role, you will engage in various tasks including digital feature extraction from multiple data sources, accurately attributing digital data, and following project-specific guidance. You will also be responsible for independently utilizing technical resources and guidance documents to clean geographic data errors and omissions. Additionally, you will apply cartographic editing techniques, which include feature displacement, thinning, symbolization, and annotation. Your input in suggesting and implementing improved work methods will be highly valued as we strive for efficiency and quality in our deliverables. This position requires a workspace suitable for remote work, including high-speed internet and multiple monitors, and a laptop will be provided. The work schedule is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a commitment of 40 hours per week.
