The Geospatial Analyst position at NV5 Geospatial involves leveraging geospatial knowledge to support national security missions. This role requires the application of various geospatial techniques to collect, analyze, and disseminate location-based information, contributing to the creation of Geospatial Intelligence products. The position is flexible, with opportunities to work in different locations and requires collaboration with a team of geospatial experts.

  • Apply geospatial knowledge to various data types through collection, manipulation, verification, and attribution.
  • Acquire, analyze, compile, and disseminate location-based information and intelligence.
  • Populate geospatial databases and create Geospatial Intelligence products.
  • Update and create new geospatial feature data sets, maps, and charts.
  • Submit work through the QA/QC process across various mission areas and geographic settings.
  • Meet deadlines in a high-tempo environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in geography, imagery analysis, or a related field; additional experience can substitute for education.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in imagery/geospatial analysis, geography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Knowledge of commercial GIS software solutions such as ESRI products (ArcMap, ArcPro), SOCET GXP, QGIS, RemoteView, or similar applications.
  • Experience using GIS systems to collect, manipulate, identify, or analyze vector or raster data sets.
  • Knowledge of geospatial data types (shapefiles, geodatabases) and DoD applications such as GRiD and DVOF.
  • Experience working with Digital Elevation Models (DEM) and understanding their impact on feature vertical accuracy.
  • Experience with imagery and understanding how projections affect feature horizontal accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision in a high-tempo environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of NGA Products and Services.
  • Familiarity with foreign partner data, maps, specifications, and products.
  • Experience with data conversion and migration techniques.
  • Experience with data collection methods and distribution packaging best practices.
  • Experience with data quality assurance procedures, including the use of Geospatial Analysis Integrity Tool (GAIT).
  • Experience with international data programs such as Multinational Geospatial Co-production Program (MGCP) or International Geospatial Warehouse (IGW).
  • Experience with Python scripting.
  • Current GEOINT Professional Certification-Foundations (GPC-F).
