At GHD we are looking for new Geoscience Intern to join the CAR team at our Phoenix, AR office. In this role you will conduct research or perform evaluations of a geological or hydrogeological nature. Create technical reports to inform proposals, budgets, support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance for civil infrastructure projects or projects to address environmental challenges. Using knowledge of various scientific disciplines, may collect, synthesize, study, report, and recommend action based on data derived from measurements or observations of soil, water, and other sources.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Geoscience or equivalent Bachelor's or Master's degree program.
  • No experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
  • Help senior colleagues collect and analyze data by performing routine geological/geophysical calculations.
  • Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks.
  • Develop and maintain excellent process or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Collect a range of straightforward samples and undertake testing as directed and in accordance with defined processes and requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of exploration plans for specific projects.
  • Prepare moderately complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices.
  • Participate in soil tests for specific small-scale farming projects.
  • Support others by carrying out a range of research activities.
  • Participate in evaluation and management of mineral reserves for specific, simple projects.
