Support Activities for Mining

ENSCO is seeking motivated and talented interns to join our geophysics team. This internship provides hands-on experience in geophysical data collection, signal processing, machine learning, and subsurface modeling. Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on cutting-edge projects that contribute to national security, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure protection.

  • Assist in geophysical surveys including ground-penetrating radar (GPR), seismic reflection, and or seismic refraction.
  • Process and interpret subsurface data to create detailed geological models.
  • Develop algorithms for seismic, electromagnetic, and acoustic sensor systems.
  • Assist in real-time implementation and testing of machine learning models.
  • Utilize Python to analyze resistivity logs and geophysical data sets.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate custom sensor solutions.
  • Contribute to technical reports, white papers and proposals.
  • Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Geophysics, Geological Engineering, Earth Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in geophysical data collection and processing techniques such as ground penetrating radar (GPR), seismic data processing, electrical resistivity tomography, magnetic surveys, or electromagnetic methods.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing timeseries data.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++ for data visualization, analysis, and machine learning applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in field environments.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance SECRET or TOP SECRET/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI), FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN.
  • Knowledge of GIS tools such as ArcGIS and QGIS.
  • Experience in machine learning techniques applied to geophysical data.
  • Understanding of signal processing, including Fourier and wavelet transforms.
  • Active SECRET and/or TOP SECRET/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
