Requirements

  • 1+ years of progressive professional land surveying experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and evaluating the significance of survey, right-of-way, engineering and architectural drawings with respect to each survey project
  • Proficient in operation of total station with electronic data collecting capability
  • Proficient in operation of GPS equipment
  • Proficient in operation of auto level equipment
  • Proficient in field survey methods and techniques
  • Ability to perform tasks independently and to assign and review work of others
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
  • Motivated to lead and mentor others
  • Desire for continued growth in the Land Surveying profession
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to travel and stay overnight for assignments outside local area (anticipated to be less than 15% of assignments)
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying/Engineering or related field helpful, but not required
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D desirable, but not required
  • Experience with Microstation, Inroads and OpenRoads desirable, but not required
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) desirable, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Direct the activities of a survey crew in the performance of Boundary/ALTA surveys, Topographic surveys, Construction and post construction surveys, and transportation surveys.
  • Maintain proper care of survey equipment
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements
  • Maintain documentation of all phases of survey work
  • Perform public records research
  • Use public records in execution of survey field work
