About The Position
Geomatics/Survey Project Manager | Hybrid Are you an expert in Land Surveying looking to advance your career with a leading company? VHB’s expanding NJ region is seeking a talented Geomatics/Survey Project Manager to join our Northeast Geomatics team, based in New Jersey. We are looking for a candidate with comprehensive knowledge in various Land Surveying applications, including boundary determinations, topographic surveys, utility surveys, highway surveys, and subdivisions. This role requires proficiency with the latest technologies and a proven track record in managing land surveying projects. Requirements
- Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of Land Surveying, including legal requirements, boundary determinations and ALTA requirements
- Proficient in reading and understanding engineering, architectural, and structural drawings
- Knowledge of local subdivision and zoning requirements
- Thorough understanding of the use of up-to-date survey technologies and interface with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to direct and monitor construction layout services
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Motivated to lead and mentor others
- 5+ years of geomatics experience, including some experience managing projects
- 2 years of fiscal/contract management experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Extensive experience using industry standard software for data collection, processing, management, and drafting
Nice To Haves
- Degree in Survey Engineering, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferred or equivalent relevant work experience
- Professional Land Surveyor license preferred
Responsibilities
- Project management, including management of budget, scope, and schedule for small, moderate, and large land survey projects
- Management of projects, support staff and clients
- Performance and/or oversight of surveying calculations
- Analysis and interpretation of public records research, including deeds, plans and other pertinent documents for the project
- Reviews and certifies work that staff has completed with a high-level of precision and accuracy
- Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed
- Coordination of field crews and Survey/CAD Technicians
- Perform field checks, manage quality control of all products
- Coordinate survey efforts with other groups in an integrated services environment
- Ability to perform “field to finish” land surveying
