About The Position

The Geology department at site provide support for operating departments. The role will be a cross functional training role across the site to introduce the intern to the entire business at Florida Canyon. It may include working for other departments on short-term projects and day-to-day activities. The focus will be working with the Technical Services group and the planning and execution of achieving short-term and long-term targets.

Requirements

  • Must be able to complete an internship lasting a minimum of ten (10) weeks between May 1 and September 1, 2026.
  • Must be enrolled in school for the Fall 2026 semester (proof of enrollment required).
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (transcripts required).
  • Must be able to pass Florida Canyon Mining's pre-employment physical, which includes drug and alcohol testing as well as metals testing (where applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Work with survey group to learn the property geographically.
  • Do ore staking and blasthole layout along with project work.
  • Work with sampling technicians to learn the importance of taking a blasthole sample.
  • Spend time with laboratory group to see how the blasthole assay determination is made.
  • Spend time with mine geology group doing blasthole mapping and modeling.
  • Learn ore control methodology for blocking out ore and waste.
  • Spend time with the pit geology group doing pit mapping in the field and translating that to the geologic model.
  • Assist the geology group in establishing a new geologic model for the site.
