About The Position

WCG is looking for a self-motivated, career-oriented Staff Geologist with 0 to 2 years of experience who is interested in environmental geology/hydrogeology, specifically related to the design, installation, construction, monitoring, assessment, regulatory compliance, and operations and maintenance of environmental control, remediation, and monitoring systems for landfills, transfer stations, remediation sites, and other sites requiring environmental mitigation or protection measures, civil site design, or site planning. This position will include field work, generally local, but some travel and overnight stays including weekends will be required. Experience with gINT, Surfer, Sanitas, and AutoCAD is a plus. As a Staff Geologist you will take direction from and work beneath senior level staff. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field required.
  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability and willingness to travel is required, often on short notice.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Able to lift up to 70 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • GIT certification a plus.
  • Experience in gINT, Sanitas, AutoCAD/Civil3D a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling.
  • Perform lithologic and geophysical logging of geotechnical boreholes.
  • Oversee monitor well, gas probe, and other compliance monitoring and remediation system installations.
  • Analyze and interpret technical data.
  • Conduct statistical analysis on groundwater monitoring data.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of geologic and hydrogeologic investigations and evaluations.
  • Perform Phase I environmental site assessments.
  • Interact with clients and participate in regulatory meetings in a support role.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Provide CQA for engineering construction projects.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors.
  • Support senior staff as needed to complete tasks. This often includes work in excess of 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, if needed
