About The Position

Tetra Tech's Hampton Roads office is seeking a junior level geologist to provide field and technical support on environmental assessment, investigation, and remediation projects. The role involves planning, conducting, and supervising tasks related to geology, hydrogeology, and data interpretation/visualization under general supervision. The candidate will work on projects in compliance with various environmental regulations and will be involved in both fieldwork and report writing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in geology or a related environmental field required.
• 0-3 years of directly related professional experience in environmental geosciences.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in geology or related field preferred.
• Experience with GIS for data interpretation.
• Other OSHA training (10-hour or 30-hour Construction) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide field and technical support on environmental assessment and remediation projects.
• Plan and prepare for fieldwork, including drilling and monitoring well installation oversight.
• Conduct multimedia sampling and interpret data for remediation programs.
• Prepare work plans, sampling and analysis plans, and technical documents.
• Perform assessment, investigative, and remedial fieldwork, including testing and sampling of soils and groundwater.
• Review progress and evaluate results of projects.
