About The Position
DEQ has an open opportunity for a Geologist/Hydrogeologist. This position will serve as a project manager to oversee sites in the Superfund Section programs, including Dry-Cleaning Solvent Cleanup Act (DSCA), PreRegulatory Landfill (PRLF), Inactive Hazardous Sites (IHSB), that are undergoing redevelopment/reuse. The role includes the review of complex geological/hydrogeological and engineering data, reports, plans, designs, etc. to ensure that contamination is addressed properly to prevent exposure. This position will also manage closed sites in the Superfund Section programs to ensure that post closure requirements such as land-use restrictions and annual certification are being maintained. Responsibilities include developing tools such as spreadsheets, databases, guidance documents, schedules, flowcharts, etc., and applying and reviewing risk assessment tools to evaluate risk and ensure safe redevelopment.
