About The Position
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Geologist for employment in North Charleston, SC. This position would support the Environmental business line, primarily working on Federal projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: utilizing basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope; preparing technical work plans and reports; interpreting and recording data, conducting analyses, and comparing findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance. The role involves planning, executing, analyzing, and reporting on environmental measures in natural systems, applying standard field practices and techniques using basic field equipment to collect samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and sediment; preparing samples for shipping, and completing chain-of-custody or similar paperwork. The Geologist will also conduct oversight of subcontractors, study contaminants, prepare basic data and scientific documents, and perform unsupervised field tasks.
