About The Position

We're hiring a Mid-Level Systems Engineer with hands-on experience across the full Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) lifecycle-from Architecture and Requirements to Integration, Testing, and Transition. You'll play a key role in driving enterprise transformation initiatives across GEOINT mission systems, with a focus on both mission outcomes and technical modernization. The ideal candidate has an understanding of IT and cloud-based technologies, and familiarity with the GEOINT TCPED (Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination) architecture. You'll join a high-performing team working to modernize GEOINT enterprise architecture and deliver integrated mission capabilities. What You'll Do As a member of the Enterprise Engineering & Architecture Division's Lead Integrator Team, you will: Work alongside Expert and Senior Systems Engineers and Integrators to: Perform Architecture Gap Analyses, Enterprise Requirements Analysis, Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (COAs), and Trade Studies Develop recommendations to support strategic investment decisions, including system divestitures and consolidation Support integration across NGA Program Executive Offices (PEOs) to ensure activity alignment and accurate documentation of the enterprise baseline, including architecture, requirements, and interfaces Help define and maintain the Future State Enterprise Architecture Drive the allocation of requirements to systems, ensuring end-to-end traceability between requirements and architecture components Participate in cross-organizational Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) focused on: Analytic modernization Collection Management Data Services Foundation GEOINT IT modernization Leverage NGA's Digital Engineering Environment to develop and maintain: Integrated project plans and schedules Requirements and epics Target state architectures Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) Roadmaps Capture and translate mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and solutions Support governance, configuration management, and risk management processes Define and improve system integration processes, promoting agile practices, digital engineering, and partnerships across multiple organizations IT & Cloud Modernization Support You'll also support NGA's IT modernization efforts by: Working with Expert IT and Cloud Architects to define and refine: Enterprise requirements for IT systems The IT Architecture Layer Multiple Cloud Architecture Patterns Helping to advance NGA's multi-cloud acquisition strategy by developing architecture and requirements documentation Identifying and documenting associated risks, issues, and opportunities related to enterprise cloud and IT efforts Key Responsibilities Summary Perform architecture gap and baseline analyses to inform future-state planning Conduct engineering assessments supporting GEOINT and IT capability investment decisions Drive requirements allocation, traceability, and architectural alignment Facilitate integration activities across NGA programs and IPTs Participate in AoAs, COAs, trade studies, and other decision-making assessments Support project planning, roadmaps, and technical documentation (e.g., CONOPS) Contribute to governance and change/risk management processes Promote agile and digital engineering practices across the enterprise

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related STEM field- OR - 6 years of experience as a Cloud Architect in lieu of a degree
  • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or the ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with systems engineering processes, including: Architecture, Requirements, Integration, Testing, Transition
  • Minimum 6 years of experience architecting cloud-based systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or working knowledge of the GEOINT TCPED architecture, including: Data Providers, Systems / Services, Interfaces, Data Flows
  • Experience using agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Understanding of multiple cloud environments
  • Experience or working knowledge of: Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), DevSecOps principles and practices

Responsibilities

  • Perform Architecture Gap Analyses, Enterprise Requirements Analysis, Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (COAs), and Trade Studies
