About The Position

AECOM is seeking a GIS Intern be based in Baltimore, Maryland. This position is expected to begin as soon as possible. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Works under direct supervision performing moderately complex technical work utilizing instructions, drawings, sketches and results from computer systems and schematics. May perform some data entry. Utilize GIS to produce, display, and analyze spatial information. Works with databases, reports, and mapping. Perform data conversion from multiple formats (PDF, TIFF, JPEG, CAD) into GIS datasets. Develop maps and map products (map books, visual aids, slides) utilizing GIS data.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Data Science, Water Resource Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Must have completed 2 years of study in the applicable program.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ESRI ArcGISPro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Strong understanding of spatial data.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Develop web maps (AGOL, ArcGIS Portal) and Esri field solutions (ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123) for project staff to collect, review project data, and maintain online services.
  • Experience working with underground utility (e.g. water, wastewater, sewer and/or stormwater) industry, environmental/natural resources.
  • Experience reading technical drawings.
