About The Position

Amentum is seeking a GIS Lab Manager. The candidate will enhance current staffing and provide technical and managerial support to satisfy mapping requirements from customers and process Census data products. The position involves serving as the lead manager responsible for the delivery of lab data processing services, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) lab processing. The candidate will perform analysis, development, implementation of processing approaches and quality checks for electronic files and related mapping, geospatial services pursuant to applicable ESI specifications. They will create maps/reports and related deliverables based on customer requests, including posting maps and related geospatial data to an internal GIS Portal. The role requires close collaboration with the customer's information technology staff to ensure implementation, installation, testing, and maintenance of GIS-related systems and software. The GIS Lab Manager will also be responsible for informing the Government COR of all deadlines, technical challenges, resource availability, personnel assignments, priorities, and progress reporting specifications. Additionally, the candidate will consult with attorneys and support staff on best practices for confirming GIS specifications, participate in teleconferences with co-counsel, client agencies, and opposing counsel upon attorney request, and ensure incoming mapping and geospatial requests are made pursuant to applicable GIS specifications. The role includes providing case attorneys with detailed notices of deficiencies when found, conducting presentations, utilizing video clips, and preparing GIS training material.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization.
  • Undergraduate degree required; preferably in computer science or related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of GIS concepts and a variety of mapping software/products: ESR's ARCGIS Pro, Network Analyst, ARCGIS Portal, and ARCGIS Online.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer graphics and demographic data products: US Census Bureau Tiger data, Census PL94-171 data, and American Community Survey/ACS data.
  • At least five years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience supporting GIS processing.
  • Broad knowledge of the Government's IT environments, including office automation networks, PC and server-based databases and applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a technical team and provide direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze attorney needs.

  • Experience in a litigation support environment extremely helpful.
