Requirements

  • Education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED.
  • A mix of standing and sitting is required.

Responsibilities

  • Setup fining/grinding and polishing machines to predefined specifications.
  • Operate fining/grinding and polishing machines to alter inserts for making lenses where tolerances are close and/or exact.
  • Inspect work produced using a variety of gauges to measure inserts against predefined specifications.
  • Rework inserts according to specifications.
  • Clean and maintain machines for optimum performance and safety purposes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of work performed or other reports as required.
  • Maintain established quality standards.
  • Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Ensure that work area(s) and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition, and prescribed safety measures are followed.
  • Actively participate and share knowledge with team members and other teams.
  • Challenge the team with new ideas and model good work habits.
  • Attend and participate in internal team meetings.
  • Support the success of the team and take initiative and responsibility to ensure the team's goals and objectives are met.
  • Help others to achieve and succeed with team objectives and support the growth and development of his/her team.
  • Support the facility's policies and procedures and is responsible for a healthy and safe team environment.
  • Take pride and ownership in his/her own work, the facility and the team area.
  • Serve as a training resource.
  • Participate and/or support in the STARpoint system and/or other teams.
  • Support the development of others.
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed.
