The R D Discovery and Technology Futures group is looking for a creative and energetic Scientist in Genomics to be at the forefront of innovating the next generation of IDEXX products. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, inquisitive, and excel in a highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary environment. In this role you will specialize in developing molecular assays (PCR based); performing data analyses and analytical validation. You will join a group of highly talented, technically focused individuals working together to identify solutions to complex challenges. This will require you to exercise your analytical and creative thought-process, sound judgement, strong communications skills, and curiosity.

  • Isolate nucleic acids from diverse and challenging sample types
  • Design, perform, validate, and optimize assays and experiments
  • Prepare materials, gather data, carry out analysis and reach conclusions
  • Author technical reports detailing procedures and results
  • Effectively present data and concepts to various audiences
  • Learn and effectively implement novel experimental protocols and/or techniques
  • Bachelor's with 6 years of experience or Master's degree with 4 years of experience in life sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Experience with various molecular assay formats and analysis (e.g. PCR, qPCR, dPCR)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
  • Organizational skills and ability to plan work is a must
  • Takes initiative and is accountable (shows ownership); focuses on task at hand; detail oriented
  • Salary range starting at $90,000 based on experience
