About The Position

We are seeking a Genetic Counselor for a specialized role to provide comprehensive genetic counseling services to individuals and families with hemophilia and other bleeding disorders. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, comfortable working independently, and has a commitment to staying at the forefront of advancements in genetic medicine. This is a unique opportunity to join a large genetics group and build specialized expertise in hemophilia and bleeding disorders.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Nice To Haves

1-3 years of relevant experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

Obtaining and interpreting detailed family and medical histories.
Assessing and communicating risks for genetic conditions.
Ordering and interpreting genetic tests.
Providing psychosocial support and counseling to patients and families.
Educating patients and healthcare providers about genetic conditions, testing options, and management strategies.
Participating in multidisciplinary clinics and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
Contributing to the development and implementation of genetic counseling programs and protocols.
Staying up-to-date on the latest advancements in genetic testing and research.
Acts as preceptor to the graduate students interning in the Medical Genetics Program.
