About The Position

Is responsible for providing genetic counseling to patients referred to the program who may be at risk for a hereditary condition. Counsels patients referred to the program on all genetic testing related matters, including risk assessment, overview of genetic testing, test results and implications, and suggested follow-up. This is a limited term position, expected to last 12 months Expected to be in the Sunnyvale office 2-3 times a week

Requirements

• Master's: Genetic Counseling
• 2 years recent relevant experience.
• CGC-Certified Genetic Counselor
• Understanding of clinical applications and standards necessary to provide comprehensive, current genetic services and counseling.
• Familiar with input and data retrieval on computer database.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, good writing ability.
• Knowledge and experience in the area of teamwork with health professionals.
