The Genetic Counselor II will provide genetic counseling following established genetic counseling practice guidelines in a variety of settings including cancer genetics clinic, prenatal clinic, pediatric clinic, cardiovascular clinic, neurology clinic, and other settings as appropriate. The role involves analyzing intake information, assessing recurrence risks, ensuring proper completion of counseling paperwork, and communicating results with medical geneticists and supervising physicians. The counselor will also provide crisis intervention, psychosocial counseling, and case management for complex genetic cases, while participating in outreach, education, and training activities.
