About The Position

Entry level position. Provides medical/clinical genetic services to individuals and families with a known or suspected inherited condition. Provides information and counseling, coordinates genetic testing, evaluates and determines individuals' and/or families' needs and makes appropriate referrals based on these evaluations. Participates in education and professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree From an accredited genetic counseling training program (Required)
  • Entry level position (Required)
  • less than 1 year Experience (Required)
  • Clinical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. (Required proficiency)
  • ABGC board certified or board eligible (Required)
  • MS from an accredited genetic counseling training program (Required)
  • Ohio Licensure (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
