Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Preferred degree in Medical Technology, chemistry, biology, or related physical sciences.
- Prior clinical or laboratory experience preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with test utilization management (TUM) efforts, which includes either review of test orders at accession check or resolution of issues with client orders.
- Facilitate test set-up by ensuring appropriate relative samples and positive controls are linked, adding gene lists for custom tests, and other related tasks.
- Provide basic client services, including provision of turn-around-time, specimen requirements, information about tests on hold and cancellations, etc as required while performing TUM.
- Maintains knowledge of systems involved in test ordering and test setup, including the provider portal, Salesforce, OSCAR, XA, and LIMS.
- Appropriately identifies complex cases that require escalation to a supervisor or genetic counselor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
