About The Position

Bassett Services is expanding our residential generator division, and we’re looking for an experienced, customer‑focused Sales Consultant to help homeowners protect their comfort and peace of mind. This mid‑ to senior‑level role is ideal for someone who understands consultative selling, enjoys meeting homeowners, and can confidently guide customers through generator sizing, selection, and installation planning.You’ll represent a trusted local brand with decades of service in Central Indiana, backed by strong marketing, steady leads, and a supportive operations team.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of $10,00k+ sales
  • 2+ years of solar sales recommened
  • 2+ years of sales experience, ideally in home services, HVAC, electrical, or other technical residential solutions.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for homeowners.
  • Confidence conducting in‑home evaluations and discussing installation considerations.
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and customer‑first mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license and comfort traveling throughout Central Indiana.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of standby generators, electrical systems, or residential construction.
  • Experience using CRM systems and structured sales processes.
  • Background in residential HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or similar home‑service industries.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in‑home consultations to assess power needs, site conditions, and installation requirements.
  • Recommend generator solutions that align with homeowner needs, budgets, and long‑term reliability.
  • Manage the full sales cycle: lead follow‑up, home visits, proposals, closing, and post‑sale coordination.
  • Build strong relationships with homeowners through education, transparency, and trust.
  • Collaborate closely with installation and service teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain accurate CRM notes, pipeline updates, and sales forecasts.
  • Stay current on generator technology, sizing methods, fuel options, and industry best practices.
