Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance is preferred; minimum of one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.
  • Electrical experience preferred.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA Standards and pass a DOT physical.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for long periods.
  • Willingness and ability to drive long distances, work various hours including overtime, and assume 24-hour on-call duty when required.

  • Electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain generators, diagnose and repair problems, install and replace components or entire systems, and perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment.
  • Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness, reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to Power/Generator alarms and be available for on-call duties 24/7 if necessary.
  • Perform work with awareness of all potential hazards, including falls, electric shock, and traffic; use safety equipment and practices; attend safety and training meetings.
