About The Position

The Generator Technician maintains, repairs, and services generators and related power equipment to ensure reliable emergency and backup power at the Technical Center. The William J. Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace's normal hours of operation (NHO) are 6:00 A.M. through 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays.

Requirements

  • The Contractor must provide a minimum of one (1) mechanic possessing Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in one of the following series: Electronic Diesel Engine Diagnosis Specialist OR ASE Master Status.
  • Must have the ability to work on small engines, hydraulic equipment, low-speed electric vehicles, forklifts (all types), and generators (all types).
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
  • Candidates must pass a background check prior to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on generators of all types.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in generator systems.
  • Conduct load testing and diagnostics.
  • Service transfer switches, controls, and associated components.
  • Maintain detailed service records.
  • Support emergency power readiness.
