About The Position
Join the Carolina Cat Team as a Generator Technician, where you will be part of an elite group responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of generators ranging from 13kW to 17,000kW. Carolina CAT, one of the longest-running Caterpillar dealerships in the United States, is seeking experienced Generator Technicians & Engineers to join our Power Generation specialists. As a Generator Technician, you will troubleshoot operational failures of generator sets and related equipment, perform both minor and major repairs, and mentor other technicians. You will be responsible for safely driving a service vehicle and documenting all work and repairs in a timely manner. Your role will also involve reading schematics, diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems, and ensuring that all systems work together efficiently. Understanding customer needs and completing repairs within time constraints while providing superior quality workmanship is essential. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities, but it requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years of experience with Caterpillar or competitor's power generation systems. You will need a clean driving record, basic computer skills, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. A sound understanding of electricity and electronics, excellent problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of safety regulations are also crucial for success in this role.
