National Power is accepting applications to fill a Generator Service Technician opening in our Columbus, OH market. Under the general direction of and reporting to the Managed Service Manager, the Generator Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of generator sets and other electrical equipment. This role involves performing various types and levels of maintenance and repair on generators and parallel systems ranging from 5-5000kw, including troubleshooting and repair of Automatic Transfer Switches (bypass isolation and closed transition types). Repairs encompass preventative maintenance service (oil and filters), troubleshooting AC and DC circuits, component replacement, warranty work per manufacturer’s guidelines, and start-up/commissioning on new generators and generator systems. The technician will also perform diesel or gaseous engine troubleshooting and repair, including ignition components, injection systems, and valve adjustments. Load bank testing on generators is required to ensure proper operating conditions and compliance with applicable code requirements. The technician will also assist other technicians with large multi-person jobs or troubleshooting complicated issues.
