The Generator Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site and phone troubleshooting, repair, equipment modifications, installation, and sales support of Generac industrial products. This position will require up to 50% travel; fleet vehicle provided.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams
  • Understand components and operation of an electrical distribution system
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and work with minimal supervision
  • Experienced in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology
  • Knowledge of power generation; light tower, pumps, and heating products
  • Spark Ignited knowledge
  • Technical Field Service Representative Trainee: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma 1 – 3 years related mechanical experience and completion of Electrical/Electronic or HVAC program
  • Technical Field Service Representative Level I: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma 2 – 3 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS)
  • Technical Field Service Representative Level II: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma 4 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS )
  • Technical Field Service Representative Level III: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma 6 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS )
  • Master Field Service Technician: Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma, Generac Master Certification or equivalent 8 years in advanced troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS)
