About The Position

This position is for a n experienced Software Engineer with either work or personal project experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Generative AI . The position will be part of the Applied Research and Technology (ART) Aerospace Technologies Team designing and developing the next-generation avionics system s of the future. The ART Aerospace Technologies Development Sandbox team is chartered with defining new disruptive developmental process improvements for the Collins Aerospace business to enab le faster cycle times, lower total lifecycle cost, reduc e tech debt and enabl e greater reusability. This is an onsite position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Must be a U.S. Person - Job requires access to ITAR or 600/500-series EAR information or hardware (directly or indirectly) and the company will not seek an export authorization for this role.
Proficient in Unix/Linux and Python
Experience in deploying Generative AI powered applications
Experie nce with Large Language Model (LLM) development frameworks ( e.g. Lang C hain , Haystack )
