In this accounting internship, you will have the opportunity to work alongside Transamerica team members on business-required projects. Opportunities are available within Corporate Tax, Internal Audit, Expense Reporting, Finance Operations, and more! This position allows you to take your classroom knowledge and apply it. You will report to a manager and build relationships with key leaders and team members in all areas of finance. Success in this role looks like working collaboratively with other interns, accounting/finance/analytic team members, and across teams and departments. You will perform professional finance/accounting work involving compilation, consolidation, and analysis of financial data. This may include fixed asset or inventory accounting, preparation of tax returns or tax reporting, preparation of trial balance or financial statements, and financial analysis including budgeting & forecasting. You will ensure that accounting transactions are recorded accurately and timely, reconcile, investigate, correct, and adjust accounting information in accordance with aggressive deadlines, and prepare financial statements and/or work papers for multiple accounting bases. You will also use multiple financial systems and/or sophisticated reporting tools to produce a variety of analyses, proactively identify unique problems, and seek help to resolve them if necessary. This internship will provide you with exposure to Transamerica's rich culture while working in one of the following departments: Corporate Tax, Internal Audit, Expense Reporting, or Finance Operations.
