BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Generalist Medical Laboratory Technician - MLT II (REG) for Core Lab located at Missouri Baptist Medical Center $10,000 Automatic Sign On Bonus Eligible!!! Position Details: Overnight Shift: 6:30pm - 7am 3 12-hour shifts per week Additional Pay: Differential for night, weekend, and holiday shifts, increasing hourly wages Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Every 3rd weekend; 1-2 holidays per year Full-time, non-remote, Generalist Lab Technologist Core Lab Responsibilities: Customer service, sendouts, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Processing, Urinalysis Lab Equipment: Cerner Millennium (LIS), Epic, Instrument Manager, Sysmex WAM, Cellavision, Biorad Unity, Wellsky, Roche, Ortho-Visions Experience: Lab experience (preferred) Requirements: Associate's Degree in Physical/Life Sciences or related field ASCP, AMT, or AAB Registration Why Join Us? Role Purpose The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) II (REG) performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required. Demonstrates good laboratory practice
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Physical/Life Sciences or related field
- ASCP, AMT, or AAB Registration

Responsibilities
- Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
- Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
- Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
- Monitors quality control performance and corrects any problems and or reports any problems to the appropriate department.
- Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
- Performs laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, test analysis.
- Trains new personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
