About The Position

The General X-ray Machine Operator performs general diagnostic imaging on outpatient, inpatient, and emergency patients within a hospital setting. This position involves performing a limited scope of diagnostic X-ray procedures including Chest/Abdomen, Extremity, Skull-Sinuses, and Spine. The operator is responsible for ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety while adhering to established Radiology and Imaging National standards.

Requirements

• Completion of the first year of a Radiographic technology program.
• Valid State of Ohio General X-ray Machine Operator License in the required modules.
• Minimum of two semesters (or three quarters) as a student Radiographer.
• Effective communication skills.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care and ensures an environment of patient safety.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives.
• Exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.
• Performs a variety of diagnostic X-ray procedures consistent with optimal image quality.
• Responsible for entering on-line charges in the Radiology Information System (RIS) and ensuring a high level of accuracy.
