Requirements
- Operating Vehicles Mechanized Devices or Equipment Running maneuvering navigating or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment such as forklifts passenger vehicles or box trucks
- Getting Information Observing receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
- Handling and Moving Objects Using hands and arms in handling positioning and moving materials
- Working Directly with the Public Greet customers in a friendly manor
- Performing General Physical Activities Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as lifting balancing walking stooping and handling of materials
- Communicating with Supervisors Peers or Subordinates Providing information to supervisors co workers and subordinates by telephone in written form e mail or in person
- Inspecting Equipment Inspecting equipment to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
- Static Strength The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift push pull or carry objects
- Reaction Time The ability to quickly respond to a problem when it appears
- Critical Thinking Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions conclusions or approaches to problems
- Time Management Managing ones own time
- High school diploma or equivalent
- This position requires being able to lift up to 75lbs regularly and safely
- Must be able to pass a DOT Physical
Responsibilities
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment such as gas oil water tires lights or brakes to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition
- Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles
- Properly document goods delivered or loaded
- Load and unload trucks
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
- Maintain records such as vehicle logs records of cargo or billing statements in accordance with regulations
- Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions
- Report delays accidents or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles using telephones or mobile two way radios
- Greet customers in a friendly manor
- Providing information to supervisors co workers and subordinates by telephone in written form e mail or in person
- Inspecting equipment to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects
