Requirements

• Prefer 1-year previous experience packing freight.
• Ability to work the 1st shift work schedule: currently Monday through Friday 6:30AM to 3:00PM.
• Schedule flexibility, as dictated by business demand and available resources including overtime at times.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to pass required OSHA CERTIFIED Written Test.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment basic aptitude driving test.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to count accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the daily activities and operations of the Mount Juliet Distribution Warehouse.
• Verifying quantity, quality, and labeling of outgoing goods per customer order.
• Ensuring that all customer orders have shipping labels and are packed to customer specs.
• Selecting and processing materials and cartons.
• Picking and filling customer orders from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems.
• Organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
• Handling routine needs that arise in the shipping department.
• Identifying and maintaining necessary equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Inspecting equipment, performing daily checklist, and communicating any deficiencies to supervision.
• Meeting production efficiency levels.
• Maintaining quality of work (Accuracy is key).
• Working independently and in a team environment, willing to help in other departments and work overtime when necessary.
• Consistently working scheduled shifts and being on time in order to comply with company attendance policy.
• Packing orders according to customer’s shipping instructions, applying shipping labels, and documenting carton count for outgoing shipments.
• Prioritizing orders based on customer’s expected ship date.
• Communicating with department supervisor, crew leader, and office personnel to ensure accurate and timely shipment of customer orders.
• Using a computer to pack customer orders utilizing SAP Warehouse Management when necessary.
• Scanning each carton and weighing each carton.
• Operating manual pallet jack equipment to maneuver products within the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner.
• Training new associates on shipping tasks.
• Sweeping and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Reporting any unsafe work conditions that might occur.
• Performing other duties as required.
