About The Position

The General Utility Worker L1-2 in Construction Services at Con Edison is responsible for performing various tasks related to utility construction and maintenance. This role requires physical endurance and the ability to work in diverse weather conditions while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. The worker will engage in manual labor, operate heavy equipment, and respond to system emergencies as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Relevant experience in any of the listed disciplines.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Respond to system emergencies to restore service to customers.
• Perform heavy manual labor including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Carry tools and materials, climb ladders and scaffolds, and enter confined spaces.
• Work at field locations in all weather conditions, including inclement weather and adverse conditions.
• Use hand tools and operate heavy equipment such as jackhammers.
• Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for an entire shift.
