About the position
The General Utility/Truck Loader position at Carmeuse Lime & Stone is responsible for the inspection and cleaning of rail equipment, maintaining cleanliness around conveyor belts and machinery, and performing various tasks throughout the plant. This role emphasizes safety and quality, allowing the employee to participate in safety programs and take action to prevent product non-conformities. The position requires working night shifts and involves physical labor, including lifting heavy materials.
Responsibilities
- Operate and perform pre-shift inspection of mobile equipment reporting any defects, when assigned
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
- Inspect work areas for safety hazards before beginning work activity
- Perform general plant clean-up
- Occasionally lift and carry equipment and materials in excess of 100 pounds
- Run sweeper, water truck and track mobile
- Load dust trucks and lime trucks
- Gather samples and report non-conformities related to product or process
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to work shift work with rotating schedule
- Required to achieve a passing score on an Entry-level Basic Skills test in order to be considered for employment
- All candidates are required to complete and pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen
