This is a trainee position responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the wind turbines and all associated equipment in accordance with procedures, guidelines, and operating directives in effect. Demonstrate the ability to assist with maintenance and operational duties, perform basic mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation tasks. Concurrently, perform and adhere to all training requirements and schedules. Training program requirements are expected to be completed within the designated time frame. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned as needed): Adhere to, support, and comply with all company safety and environmental policies and practices. Ensure all employees, contractors and visitors conduct themselves safely and within company policies and regulatory guidelines. Complete required annual safety training. Participate in turbine specific training both classroom and hands on training. Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor or Lead Technician, assist in the operation of the wind turbine systems. Learn the components of a wind turbine and their function and learn the maintenance process and procedures such as changing out filters, grease critical components, change fluids and replace parts as needed, located on the wind turbine. Typical maintenance work includes, but is not limited to; disassembly, repair, and assembly of small and medium-size equipment; lubricating equipment; assisting with and/or performing instrumentation and electrical troubleshooting and maintenance; changing oil in equipment and troubleshooting malfunctions. Learn to read meters and gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions. Possess knowledge or learn the specific function of tools and have the ability to use them safely. Learn turbine related activities to include reading meters and gauges. Learn chemical and oil characteristics in accordance with procedures at specified intervals. Learn to review various logs, faults, temperatures levels, and other information. Maintain the plant area, shop equipment, tools, grounds and company vehicle in a clean and safe condition at all times. Take immediate corrective action as directed in response to emergency situations to minimize safety hazards and to reduce damage or downtime to the plant and its equipment. Upon certification utilize electrical test equipment in the performance of operation and maintenance work. Regularly complete paperwork, including timecards, work orders and any other required documentation including hard copies and electronic. Train to improve personal skills related to the job and/or required advancement. Ability to travel. Compiles records and reports and maintains a daily log. Trains to improve personal skills related to the job and/or required advancement. Assist co-workers with responsibilities when needed, including backup support. Ability to travel. Ability and willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as needed.
