Lighthouse Lab Services is excited to represent a women’s health care organization in Augusta, GA that seeks a General/Technical Supervisor to add to their growing team! Position Overview: Communicates with other departments to coordinate and resolve issues as needed Ensures troubleshooting of instrumentation and test systems is performed and that remedial actions are taken before patient results are reported Actively participates in Performance Improvement initiatives and utilizes the Performance Improvement process to improve services Demonstrates a commitment to continue self-development in leadership skills and scientific knowledge by attending professional development programs and technical lectures Prepares and conducts fair, comprehensive, and timely probationary period and annual performance evaluations Conducts regularly scheduled laboratory meetings Demonstrates proficient use of the Laboratory Information System. Performs routine testing, quality control, calibration, maintenance, and proficiency testing in accordance with current laboratory procedures Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines as described in their respective guidelines Responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of high complexity test performance Must be onsite to provide direct supervision when high complexity testing is performed by any individuals Responsible for monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained. Assuring that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the established performance specifications Ensuring that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the tests properly functioning In future, manage technical staff schedules, ensuring compliance with scheduling policies and practices and supervise all testing personnel, assigning work, monitoring activities, provide training, and evaluate performance Perform other duties as instructed by medical personnel and lab director

Requirements

  • B.S. in Biology, Clinical Lab Science, or related field
  • Qualify as testing personnel under CLIA guidelines and have at least 4 years of laboratory training or experience in high complexity Molecular testing

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership experience is a plus
  • MB(ASCP) or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with QuantStudio 5, King Fisher Flex
  • Previous experience with sample prep

Responsibilities
