About The Position

The General Surgery team at CentraCare is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their established practice, which includes 15 surgeons and 12 advanced practice providers. The position offers an extensive mentoring program and focuses primarily on inpatient care with limited expectations in the operating room. The schedule consists of working 7 days on and 7 days off, from 7 am to 5 pm on the days worked, compensated as a 1.0 FTE.

Requirements

• Certification of completion from an accredited program for Physician Assistants.
• Certification by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
• CPR certification is required.
• Surgery experience preferred.
• Previous experience as an Advanced Practice Provider is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive health care assessment, diagnosis, initiation of appropriate care and treatment.
• Continuous outcome monitoring of the general surgery patient population.
• Follow established protocols and collaborate with physicians.
• Work independently in health care decisions.
• Establish a philosophy of patient and family-centered care in all patient care practices.
• Manage trauma patients.
• Perform various surgical procedures including laparoscopic removal of the gallbladder, thyroid and parathyroid disease surgeries, breast surgeries, hernia repairs, and more.

• Starting pay begins at $116,584 per year; exact wage determined by years of related experience.
