About The Position
The Guthrie Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP)—Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Associate (PA)—to join our dynamic General Surgery/Surgical Oncology inpatient team. This is a full-time, no-call position focused on collaborative, patient-centered care alongside surgical residents and attending physicians. Highlights of the Position include providing high-quality inpatient care to post-operative and acutely ill surgical patients on the General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Colorectal, HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary), and Endocrine Surgery services. No call or overnight shifts are required. The role involves collaborating closely with surgical residents and attendings as an integral part of the multidisciplinary care team, supporting and enhancing patient care during times when residents are in the operating room or participating in protected educational activities, and assisting with daily patient rounds and clinical assessments, progress notes, admission and discharge documentation, discharge planning, and coordination with case management and social work. The APP will act as a clinical resource for residents and other team members regarding routine post-operative care and inpatient management, communicate and coordinate with outpatient surgical APPs to ensure continuity of care and appropriate post-discharge follow-up, interface with consulting services and ancillary departments to support comprehensive inpatient care, and participate in quality improvement initiatives and team-based problem solving.
