About The Position

St. Francis Hospital, a proud member of the Prime Healthcare network, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join our growing surgical team in Evanston, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established hospital known for its commitment to compassionate care, clinical excellence, and community service.The ideal candidate will provide a full range of general surgical services, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency procedures, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and support staff.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency program.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery (ABMS or AOA).
Current and unrestricted Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
Current DEA registration.
Excellent interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills.
Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

We staff a suburban level one trauma center and are looking for a well-trained general surgeon to join us.
Case mix includes bread and butter general surgery operations along with acute care surgery and daytime trauma coverage.
Current services provided include a broad range of elective general surgery, endoscopy, as well as urgent surgery and trauma.
General Surgery resident coverage is 24/7 with benefits of an academic environment affiliated with the University of Illinois and the opportunity for research if desired.
Home call is 1/3 along with the option to take additionally compensated night and weekend shifts.
Current physicians have fellowship training in MIS, hepatobiliary, and surgical critical care.
